Institutions from 75 Countries Converge in Ashgabat; 31st OGT Oil & Gas Exhibition Spotlights Smart Transformation

The 31st OGT (Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan) International Exhibition and Conference was held in Ashgabat from October 21 to 23, 2026. Organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, the premier event, anchored by the theme "Energy, Cooperation, Progress," convened 1,700 delegates representing over 450 organizations and enterprises from 75 countries to explore new opportunities in the oil and gas sector.

Multinational energy giants including CNPC, Sinopec, SOCAR, PETRONAS, SLB, and Baker Hughes secured prominent exhibition space at the event, which provided a comprehensive showcase of strategic directions in the oil and gas industry. The exhibition focused closely on core areas such as the exploration of new oil and gas fields, advanced hydrocarbon processing, infrastructure upgrades, and the deployment of innovative technologies.

Introduced on the show floor, the Unitree G1 humanoid robot, named A.L.I., provided a vivid demonstration of how AI and robotics are empowering the modern oil and gas industry, marking the sector's evolution toward intelligent operations. Meanwhile, participants engaged in in-depth consultations on strategic investment, energy corridor development, methane reduction, and ecological transition during a series of concurrent B2B and B2G matchmaking sessions and thematic seminars.

To advance its carbon neutrality goals, Turkmenistan is actively leveraging international cooperation to introduce advanced emission-reduction technologies and digital management solutions, striving to achieve green, low-carbon development while safeguarding energy supplies. The exhibition is expected to facilitate the signing of multiple new contracts and the introduction of cutting-edge technologies. A representative from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan described the event as "a vital engine for driving multilateral cooperation." Furthermore, according to IEA projections, global investment in digitalization and automation within the oil and gas sector is set to surge by 40% by 2030. Facing increasingly stringent carbon emission regulations and the need to cut operating costs, traditional fossil fuel companies are being compelled to iterate their technologies to maintain competitiveness.
