The 2026 Shandong Education Expo recently officially opened at the Shandong International Convention and Exhibition Center. Organized by the Department of Education of Shandong Province and the People's Government of Jinan Municipality, and undertaken by the Shandong Education Development Service Center and the Education Bureau of Jinan Municipality, the Expo is themed "Digital Intelligence Empowerment and Innovative Development." It has brought together over 600 relevant organizations to showcase the fruitful achievements of Shandong's high-quality education development since the 14th Five-Year Plan. The event provides a comprehensive display of cutting-edge technological equipment for all educational and teaching scenarios, striving to build a collaborative innovation ecosystem involving government, schools, industries, and enterprises, and effectively driving the transformation of educational paradigms with digital and intelligent engines.

As a core highlight of the Expo, the Shandong High-Quality Education Development Achievement Exhibition, themed "Building a Strong Province, Education First," has drawn significant attention. The exhibition is meticulously designed with a prologue hall and four core zones: Equitable and High-Quality Development of Basic Education, Integrated Development of Education, Science and Technology, and Talent, Construction of the Modern Vocational Education System, and Educational Opening-up. Through systematic exhibition design, it comprehensively presents the practical pathways and phased achievements of provinces, cities, and schools in advancing and serving the construction of a strong education province. The basic education zone fully demonstrates the solid results achieved in expanding resources, enhancing quality, and promoting balance. Meanwhile, the higher and vocational education zones deeply focus on the innovative models of integrating education, science, technology, and talent, as well as building the modern vocational education system.

The Expo boasts a robust lineup and extensive coverage. The Education and Sports Bureaus of 16 cities across the province, along with 58 general undergraduate universities, 48 higher vocational colleges, and 33 secondary vocational schools, are all participating in the showcase. Among them, the municipal bureaus have brought together over a hundred primary and secondary schools and related institutions, vividly depicting the panoramic picture of Shandong's thriving basic education. At the same time, 106 higher education institutions are comprehensively presenting their outstanding achievements in talent cultivation, discipline development, scientific and technological innovation, social services, and opening-up, highlighting the profound heritage and innovative vitality of Shandong's education system.

In the Equipment Exhibition zone, the Expo keeps pace with the times by focusing on digital and intelligent empowerment, showcasing cutting-edge technological equipment for current educational and teaching scenarios. From interactive terminals for smart classrooms to immersive equipment for virtual simulation experiments, and from precision analysis platforms for educational big data to innovative AI-assisted teaching systems, a series of advanced technological products paints a vivid picture of future education for visitors. These cutting-edge facilities not only greatly enhance the interactivity and efficiency of teaching but also provide solid technical support for the balanced cross-regional allocation of educational resources, vividly illustrating how technology can break the physical boundaries of traditional education.

Notably, this three-day Shandong Education Expo features a rich agenda and intensive events, creating a strong academic and industrial atmosphere. The organizers have concurrently held over a dozen high-profile events, including the Finals of the National Youth Scientific Experiment Capability Competition, the "AI + Education" Innovation and Practice Conference, the Release of "Outstanding Achievements" from Shandong Universities, and the Experience Sharing Meeting of the Yellow River Basin Educational Technology Equipment Collaborative Development Alliance. These concurrent events not only provide a broad stage for young people to showcase their scientific literacy and innovative abilities but also build a platform for in-depth dialogue and matchmaking among industry, academia, and research for education administrators, frontline educators, top experts and scholars, and representatives from tech enterprises. In particular, the "AI + Education" Innovation and Practice Conference directly addresses the pain points and challenges in the current digital transformation of education, exploring the practical application of next-generation AI technologies such as large models in educational scenarios. Meanwhile, the Experience Sharing Meeting of the Yellow River Basin Educational Technology Equipment Collaborative Development Alliance holds profound strategic significance in promoting the coordinated development of education across provinces in the Yellow River Basin, achieving the sharing of high-quality equipment resources, and narrowing the regional digital education divide.

When education thrives, the nation thrives; when education is strong, the nation is strong. At this critical juncture when the 14th Five-Year Plan is being deeply implemented and the building of an education powerhouse is fully accelerating, Shandong Province is taking this Education Expo as an opportunity to comprehensively review its experience in education reform and development, and actively explore new educational paradigms in the digital and intelligent era. Through deep collaboration among government, schools, industries, and enterprises, Shandong is accelerating the construction of a high-quality education system and striving to provide education that satisfies the people. The successful hosting of this Expo is not only a comprehensive review of the achievements of Shandong's education development but also an important starting point for facing the future and embarking on a new journey of educational modernization.
