On August 13, 2026, the Bangladesh TEXCHEM Expo 2026 officially opened its doors at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka. Held concurrently with the 13th Bangladesh Yarn, Fabric and Trims Expo, TEXCHEM Expo 2026 focuses on textile chemicals and modern processing technologies. Running for four days, the event has attracted over 150 renowned domestic and international exhibitors. It is dedicated to providing the latest chemical solutions and technical support to Bangladesh's garment manufacturers and fabric processors, thereby facilitating the green, low-carbon, and high value-added transformation of the country's textile industry chain.

Meticulously curated and organized by ASK Trade and Exhibitions, the expo arrives at a time when the global textile industry is accelerating its transition towards eco-friendly, efficient, and sustainable practices. In this context, textile chemicals play a pivotal role in dyeing, finishing, and the development of functional fabrics. The exhibition floor showcases a comprehensive range of advanced textile chemicals, eco-friendly dyes, and auxiliaries, alongside modern garment processing technologies such as embroidery and heat transfer printing. These cutting-edge technologies and products not only meet the RMG sector's demand for high-quality fabric processing but also provide robust support for local enterprises to enhance their product competitiveness and comply with the increasingly stringent environmental requirements of international buyers. The highly prestigious inauguration ceremony brought together numerous leading figures in Bangladesh's textile, apparel, and trade sectors. Mohammad Hatem, President of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), served as the chief guest and delivered the keynote address. Distinguished guests in attendance included Prof Dr Engr Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice-Chancellor of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT); Kazi Mizanur Rahman, Director of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA); Md. Shahriar, President of the Bangladesh Garment Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA); Masud Ali Khan, Vice President of the Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCCI); and Mehedi Hasan Bhuiyan, President of the Bangladesh Merchandisers and Suppliers Association (BMSA). The comprehensive lineup of guests fully reflects the industry's strong commitment to the upgrading of textile chemicals and processing technologies.

In his address, BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem offered profound insights into investment and development in the textile chemical and processing sectors from the perspective of the macroeconomic and industrial landscape. He emphasized that government policy support is the core driving force for boosting investment confidence and promoting leapfrog growth in the industry. "While striving to attract foreign investment, we must ensure a stable and favorable business environment to effectively retain our existing investors," Hatem stated. Addressing industry pain points, he specifically called on relevant government departments to optimize and streamline various certification processes to make them simpler and more efficient. He further noted, "As long as we can consolidate and retain our existing investors, we will undoubtedly unlock greater potential for new investment and drive sustained prosperity in the job market." This perspective provides clear policy direction for the localized application of textile chemicals and processing technologies, as well as for attracting foreign investment.

Bangladesh's RMG sector holds a pivotal position in the global supply chain; however, the upstream dyeing and finishing segments of the textile industry have long faced pressure for technological upgrading. The hosting of TEXCHEM Expo 2026 is precisely aimed at addressing this critical bottleneck in the industry chain. By building a direct bridge for fabric processors, garment exporters, and international buying houses to engage with global chemical suppliers, the expo effectively facilitates the implementation of advanced processing technologies in Bangladesh.
