China Materials Conference 2026 Opens in Wuhan as Domestic Brands Take Center Stage

On July 15, the China Materials Conference 2026 and the 27th China International New Materials Expo opened at the Wuhan International Expo Center. This national-level industry event, which set records for participation and exhibition area, is expected to host 20,000 attendees across 120 sub-conferences.

Domestic brands have taken the absolute center stage in the premium exhibition area. The conference focuses on cutting-edge new materials research, advanced preparation processes, and supporting experimental equipment, bridging the channel from academic research to industrial application. Sub-conference topics span energy materials, information materials, advanced structural materials, biomedical materials, 'AI + materials,' and other broad fields.

China's new materials industry total output value has now approached 10 trillion yuan, accounting for approximately one-third of the global total. Concurrently, the 27th China International New Materials Expo focuses on new materials basic research, technological innovation, industrial transformation, and application deployment, integrating academic exchange, achievement exhibition, technology trading, and supply-demand matching.

Hubei leverages top-tier research platforms at institutions like Wuhan University of Technology and its deep industrial base to build strong advantages in optoelectronic information materials, metallurgical chemistry, and biomedical materials. At the expo, Hubei-based Dilon Holdings has fully mastered core CMP polishing pad technology, commanding nearly 80% of the domestic market; companies like Yangtze Optical Fibre and Xingfa Group lead in sub-sectors including optical fiber cable and electronic-grade chemicals.

Through the conference platform, multiple research projects have been precisely matched with industrial needs. Experts and enterprise representatives engaged in in-depth exchanges on technology breakthroughs, achievement transformation, and talent cultivation in the new materials field, contributing to the 'Materials Powerhouse' construction.
