On August 28, 2026, the inaugural Greater Bay Area Coffee Industry Expo officially opened at the Boluo Taimei Greater Bay Area (Guangdong Huizhou) Green Agricultural Product Production and Supply Base. The expo has brought together representatives from the national supply and marketing system, national-level industry associations, core coffee-producing regions in Yunnan, coffee industry associations from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, leading global supply chain enterprises, research institutions, and numerous coffee brand practitioners. The event aims to build a comprehensive industry platform integrating exhibition and trade, supply-demand matchmaking, exchange of ideas, and resource integration, jointly promoting the high-quality development of the coffee industry in the Greater Bay Area.

Boasting high standards and extensive coverage, the expo attracted a host of distinguished guests. Attendees at the opening ceremony included Zhang Jianping, First-Class Inspector of the Department of Science, Education, and Social Organizations at the All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives; Liu Yong, Member of the Party Committee of China Supply and Marketing Group Co., Ltd.; Zhou Zhuowei, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Guangdong Provincial Supply and Marketing Cooperative; Duan Zhihui, Vice Mayor of Huizhou; Chen Zhaopeng, Party Secretary and Director of Huizhou Customs; Sun Yabin, Assistant General Manager of China Supply and Marketing Agricultural Products Group; and Gu Xuehui, Deputy Magistrate of Boluo County, among other leaders and guests.

Stepping into the exhibition hall, visitors are presented with a complete industrial chain from coffee beans to professional equipment. The expo has strategically zoned the exhibition area into core sections, including coffee bean raw materials, coffee equipment and utensils, roasting competitions, and industrial supporting services. The showcase features not only coffee beans, roasted beans, and premium drip-bag coffee, but also a wide range of advanced coffee machines and roasting equipment. Numerous booths are bustling with buyers and sellers engaged in enthusiastic business negotiations. The expo has gathered renowned domestic and international enterprises such as Xiamen C&D, CP Pu'er Coffee, Robock Coffee, and Trung Nguyen Legend from Vietnam. Its green coffee bean trading resources extensively cover major global production regions including Indonesia, Colombia, Vietnam, and Yunnan in China, providing a comprehensive display of the latest products and cutting-edge technologies in coffee roasting, extraction, intelligent processing, and supporting equipment.

For enterprises, the expo serves as a crucial opportunity to expand market channels and seek strategic partnerships. Lin Jiajun, Chairman of Duoduo Catering Chain Management (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., pointed out that the coffee consumption market in the Greater Bay Area is currently surging, with a broad consumer base and immense market potential. As a local Huizhou enterprise, the company hopes to leverage this expo to precisely match with high-quality coffee raw materials, equipment, and supply chain resources, thereby further optimizing its in-store product offerings. Chen Zhenxi, Regional Manager of Guangdong Robock Industrial Co., Ltd., also noted that the company is deeply engaged in the coffee beverage sector, continuously innovating by leveraging Boluo's industrial supporting advantages. The company's participation aims to showcase the brand strength of local ready-to-drink coffee and engage in in-depth exchanges with peers and supply chain enterprises from various regions. Zheng Zimin, General Manager of CP (Pu'er) Coffee Co., Ltd., brought specialty coffee products from Hainan and Yunnan, hoping to utilize the expo to establish direct supply channels from the origins to the Greater Bay Area, bringing more high-quality resources to the vast GBA market.

Beyond the rich exhibitions, a series of heavyweight industry events held during the expo further underscore its function as an industry platform. The inaugural meeting of the Coffee Standardization Technical Committee of the All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives was held concurrently, attracting over 30 organizations, including industry associations, research institutes, and leading enterprises, to jointly explore the construction of a standardized system for the entire coffee industry chain. Meanwhile, representatives from coffee industry associations in Guangzhou, Dongguan, Foshan, Huizhou, Hong Kong, and Macao jointly launched the Greater Bay Area Coffee Industry Development Convention Initiative, effectively promoting industry self-discipline, resource sharing, and coordinated development.

In terms of digitalization and supply chain innovation, the Greater Bay Area Coffee Bean Trading Platform was officially launched, alongside the unveiling of the GBA Base Public Bonded Warehouse and Distribution Center. The platform establishes an integrated model of "online trading + bonded warehousing + smart distribution," comprehensively addressing the shortcomings in cross-border circulation and digital services for coffee in the Bay Area. Additionally, the expo featured a special session for thematic sharing on the coffee industry and hosted the CP CPCRC Global Specialty Coffee Roasting Championship (Huizhou Leg). Through high-level industry exchanges and professional competitions, these events effectively facilitated technological exchange and talent development.

The popularity of the professional expo has also ignited citizens' enthusiasm for coffee consumption. Through product displays, professional competitions, and on-site experiences, visitors have been able to gain up-close knowledge of coffee. Liu Zhenming, a visiting citizen, remarked that the rich exhibits allowed him to learn about various products and professional equipment, watch competitions, and acquire knowledge, enabling him to feel the vigorous vitality of the coffee industry right at his doorstep.

It is reported that the expo will run until August 29, integrating exhibition, academic exchange, competitive events, production and sales signing, digital empowerment, and Bay Area synergy. Looking ahead, the base will continue to host the Coffee Industry Expo, striving to build it into a landmark professional exhibition that empowers the high-quality development of the GBA coffee industry. This will drive better coordination between distinctive agriculture and regional economic and trade development, and help forge a new pattern of coordinated development for the coffee industry in the Greater Bay Area.
