On August 21, the 2026 Shandong Education Expo officially opened at the Shandong International Convention and Exhibition Center. Co-hosted by the Department of Education of Shandong Province and the People's Government of Jinan Municipality, the Expo was co-organized by the Shandong Education Development Service Center and the Jinan Municipal Education Bureau. Themed "Empowered by Digital Intelligence, Driven by Innovation," the event spans a total exhibition area of 60,000 square meters and brings together over 600 enterprises, institutions, and educational organizations. The Expo features three core sections: the Achievement Exhibition, the Equipment Exhibition, and Concurrent Events. It aims to showcase the remarkable achievements in high-quality education development in Shandong since the 14th Five-Year Plan, comprehensively display cutting-edge technological equipment for all educational scenarios, and foster a collaborative innovation ecosystem among government, schools, industries, and enterprises. By leveraging digital and intelligent engines to drive paradigm shifts in education, the Expo injects strong momentum into building an education powerhouse province and contributes solid educational strength to the development of a modernized powerhouse province.

As a core highlight of the Expo, the Shandong Education High-Quality Development Achievement Exhibition, themed "Building a Strong Province, Education Leads the Way," has attracted widespread attention. The exhibition area is scientifically designed with a Prelude Hall and four thematic zones: equitable and high-quality development of basic education, integrated development of education, science, technology, and talent, construction of a modern vocational education system, and internationalization of education. It systematically and panoramically presents the practical pathways and phased achievements at the provincial, municipal, and school levels in advancing and serving the building of an education powerhouse. In terms of the exhibition lineup, the education bureaus of all 16 cities in the province, 58 undergraduate universities, 48 higher vocational colleges, and 33 secondary vocational schools are all present. Among them, the municipal education bureaus, together with over a hundred primary and secondary schools and related institutions, showcase the solid results of basic education in expanding resources, improving quality, and promoting balance. Meanwhile, 106 higher education institutions comprehensively present their outstanding achievements in talent development, discipline construction, scientific and technological innovation, social services, and internationalization, profoundly demonstrating the mission and responsibility of education in serving economic and social development. This section not only summarizes past achievements but also actively responds to the future integrated development strategy of education, science, technology, and talent.

In the Equipment Exhibition zone, nearly 400 industry leaders and innovative enterprises, including Huawei, iFLYTEK, Inspur, ZTE, and Lanbeisite, have gathered. As new-generation information technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing profoundly reshape the educational landscape, these companies have seized the opportunity of the times to showcase full-scenario solutions for digital and intelligent educational equipment. The exhibits cover a wide range of key areas, including educational technology equipment, campus logistics and support services, educational financial services, labor education, and research-based study tours. Through immersive experiences and interactions, the exhibition vividly demonstrates the vibrant practices of modern educational technology empowering the building of an education powerhouse province. It provides attendees with a crucial window to gain insights into future trends in educational equipment and highlights the core supporting role of technology enterprises in driving the digital transformation of education.

The Expo runs for three days. During the event, the organizers have planned and hosted over 10 high-level concurrent events, including the Finals of the National Youth Scientific Experiment Competition, the "AI + Education" Innovation and Practice Conference, the Release Ceremony of "Outstanding Achievements" from Shandong Universities, and the Work Experience Exchange Meeting of the Yellow River Basin Educational Technology Equipment Collaborative Development Alliance. Numerous experts, scholars, and industry representatives engaged in in-depth discussions on frontier topics such as the organization of national competitions, campus dining management, green and low-carbon development, innovation and entrepreneurship education, research-based study tours for primary and secondary schools, smart sports, and industry-education integration. The exchange within the Yellow River Basin Educational Technology Equipment Collaborative Development Alliance further highlights the strategic significance of cross-regional resource sharing and collaborative innovation. These events not only promote the exchange of ideas but also further bridge the gap between theoretical research, technological R&D, and campus applications, effectively driving the implementation of cutting-edge technologies into tangible educational outcomes.

The successful hosting of this Expo is not only a major review of the achievements in Shandong's educational development but also an important platform for promoting the integrated development of education, science, technology, and talent. By building a bridge for in-depth dialogue and cooperation among government, schools, industries, and enterprises, Shandong Province is accelerating the digital transformation of education, striving to seize the initiative in the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, and working diligently to usher in a new chapter in high-quality educational development.
