On the morning of August 21, the 34th Guangzhou Expo officially kicked off at the Canton Fair Complex. As a comprehensive exhibition for Sino-foreign economic and trade cooperation hosted by the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, the Guangzhou Expo has adhered to the mission of being "rooted in the Greater Bay Area, facing the world, and serving the whole country" since its inception in 1993, having successfully held 33 consecutive editions. Themed "Integrating Industries to Boost Quality and Efficiency, Smoothing Circulation towards the Future," this year's expo covers an exhibition area of approximately 200,000 square meters, gathering over 5,000 exhibitors and more than 10,000 buyers. The event will run until August 23, with free admission for the public.

This year's Guangzhou Expo innovatively implements a four-dimensional integrated exhibition model featuring "Guest of Honor and International, On-site and Off-site, Daytime and Nighttime, Online and Offline," and prominently launches the "Four Firsts" initiatives to build a high-caliber industrial "living room" and a premium public "carnival." Specifically, the expo has established a Guest City for the first time, inviting Haikou as the Guest City for this edition, and continues to be held concurrently with the International Exhibition of Inventions, extensively inviting business delegates from Belt and Road countries. For the first time, it has expanded off-site supporting scenarios to deeply integrate the exhibition with cultural tourism consumption, enriching exhibition settings and stimulating the nighttime economy. It has also introduced a nighttime exhibition mode for the first time, extending the featured robot performances until 9:00 PM, effectively prolonging viewing hours and boosting public participation. Furthermore, it has achieved full online-offline synergy for the first time by launching the brand-new "Digital Guangzhou Expo" online service platform, building a digital exhibition system for supply-demand matching, achievement showcase, and resource sharing, significantly expanding the expo's reach.

In terms of event programming, the expo highlights three major flagship events. First is the popular check-in hotspot—the Robot Performance Zone, which brings together over 100 robots of various types from renowned brands such as Unitree, Zhongqing, and Zhiyuan, covering humanoid, bionic, and industrial intelligent equipment. The zone features over 30 special performances daily, integrating cultural and technological flair with shows like the Lingnan Lion Dance Robot Show, human-robot dancing, robot boxing, and human-robot football matches. Visitors can not only observe cutting-edge intelligent equipment up close but also take photos and interact with humanoid robots, and experience特色 services like robot-made coffee, ice cream, and fried chicken. Catering to public demand, the expo has innovatively introduced nighttime sessions; on August 21 and 22, robot performances will be extended until 9:00 PM, and children aged 12 and under can enter for free with valid identification.

Second is the 2026 New Quality Productive Forces New Enterprise and New Product Promotion Conference, focusing on advanced manufacturing and cutting-edge technological innovation. The conference boasts a highly professional lineup of guests. Victor Gao, Deputy Chairman of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), Zhang Li, Co-President of Asia Data Group, and Hu Xiaoyong, Vice President of JD Industrial, delivered keynote speeches on core topics such as artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, digital and intelligent supply chains, and the cultivation of sci-tech talent. Meanwhile, three industry benchmarks—GAC Group, iFLYTEK, and Zhejiang Rouling Technology—presented their cutting-edge sci-tech achievements on-site, providing intellectual and technical support for industrial upgrading.

The third major flagship event is the co-hosted 2nd Guangzhou Consumer Assistance Exhibition and the 2026 National Agricultural and Commercial Interconnection (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area) Event. This exhibition area covers a planned 30,000 square meters and is divided into four sections: Premium and Specialty Products, Agriculture-Culture-Tourism and Intangible Cultural Heritage, Smart Agriculture, and New Quality Channels. It has attracted nearly 1,000 business entities from across the country, covering 22 provinces and over 20 key national assistance production regions, effectively promoting the expansion of specialty agricultural products into the Greater Bay Area and national markets.

In terms of exhibition layout, the 34th Guangzhou Expo plans to set up 18 halls, carefully designing three thematic exhibition areas—Mega-Tech, Mega-Health, and Mega-Consumption—which are further divided into five core sections. The Mega-Tech area focuses on the core engine of new quality productive forces and advantageous industries in technological innovation, including the 12th International Exhibition of Inventions (20,000 sqm), the Full-Space Unmanned System and Guangzhou City Image Exhibition (10,000 sqm), and the Intelligent Robot Exhibition (10,000 sqm). The Mega-Health area is closely aligned with the silver economy and medical innovation, featuring the 10th Guangzhou International Elderly Care and Health Industry Exhibition (30,000 sqm) and the 2026 Guangzhou Medical and Health Industry Exhibition (20,000 sqm), comprehensively showcasing the achievements of the Greater Bay Area in building a highland for the medical and health industry. The Mega-Consumption area deeply integrates the national strategies of regional coordination and rural revitalization, including the "Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand" Project Industrial Collaboration Exhibition (30,000 sqm), the 2026 Rural Revitalization Exhibition (30,000 sqm), the 2026 Geographical Indication Industry (Guangzhou) Exhibition (10,000 sqm), the Domestic Provincial and Municipal Premium Products Exhibition (10,000 sqm), and the FLCE Asia Food and Cold Chain Exhibition (10,000 sqm), comprehensively empowering quality consumption and industrial upgrading.

The organizers of the Guangzhou Expo sincerely invite entrepreneurs, sci-tech talents, buyers, and the public from home and abroad to join this grand event, experience cutting-edge technology up close, negotiate industrial cooperation, and enjoy a public-benefit exhibition, sharing the new opportunities for high-quality development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
