On August 13, the 15th China Western (Lanzhou) International Auto Expo 2026 officially opened at the Gansu International Convention and Exhibition Center. The event is guided by the Lanzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau, organized by Shenzhen United Exhibition Group Co., Ltd., and undertaken by Lanzhou Hemeijia Exhibition Co., Ltd. Themed "Midsummer Bargain Bonanza: 818 Auto Show Carnival," the expo will run through August 18. As a highly influential automotive event in Northwest China, this year's expo has not only delivered a carnival of automotive culture to the people of Lanzhou, but also comprehensively stimulated the vitality of the regional auto consumer market through a range of favorable policies.

This year's auto expo has seen comprehensive upgrades in both exhibition scale and brand lineup. With a total exhibition area of 40,000 square meters, Halls 1 through 7 of the Gansu International Convention and Exhibition Center have been fully utilized, providing ample display space for major automakers. In terms of participating brands, the expo has attracted dozens of mainstream domestic and international automakers, including Xiaomi, BYD, Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, XPeng, Li Auto, NIO, Zeekr, Denza, Hongqi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Honda, Tank, and Chery. The exhibited models comprehensively cover luxury brands, joint-venture brands, domestic brands, and the highly popular new energy vehicle segment. This not only reflects the current trends of diversification and intelligence in the auto market, but also provides a one-stop platform for consumers with diverse needs to view, select, and purchase vehicles.

Regarding consumption-boosting policies, the expo has made targeted efforts to fully implement the national and Gansu provincial trade-in subsidy policies for automobiles, directly translating policy dividends into tangible benefits for car buyers. It is understood that on-site purchases are eligible for government trade-in subsidies of up to 15,000 RMB and scrappage-and-purchase subsidies of up to 20,000 RMB. For new energy vehicle purchases, buyers can also stack a 50% reduction in vehicle purchase tax. Meanwhile, participating brands have simultaneously rolled out multiple promotional measures, including exclusive expo prices, limited-time special offers, direct cash discounts, and financial interest subsidies, with comprehensive discounts on some popular models exceeding 100,000 RMB. In addition, in collaboration with UnionPay QuickPass, the expo has launched an instant discount campaign for car buyers paying deposits, offering a 100 RMB discount on single transactions meeting a minimum threshold. With a total of 3,000 discount quotas available, this initiative has further lowered the threshold for car purchases and significantly boosted on-site transaction enthusiasm.

New car launches and cutting-edge technology displays have always been the core highlights of the auto expo. At this year's event, several heavyweight models, including the Yijing, BYD Qin MAX and Seal 06, Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance M9 and G9, IM L6, XPeng MONA L03, and Hongqi H7, made their regional debuts in Lanzhou, attracting large crowds of car enthusiasts and media attention. Alongside the new car unveilings, the expo has also featured special zones such as the BYD Smart Mobility Zone, the Influencer Cool Check-in Zone, and the KOL Live Streaming Interactive Zone. Notably, the BYD Smart Mobility Zone showcases the brand's latest technological achievements in intelligent driving, smart cockpits, and connected vehicles, allowing visitors to experience up close the technological charm of new energy vehicles in the second half of the intelligentization race.

Notably, this year's expo has made bold innovations in cross-industry collaboration, partnering with UnionPay Gansu to launch the "Ticket Stub Economy" campaign. Visitors simply need to upload their expo ticket stubs to the "Ticket Stub Rewards" section on UnionPay QuickPass to claim comprehensive consumption vouchers worth up to 300 RMB. These vouchers have broad coverage, encompassing over 600 offline merchants including Guofang Center and Shanshan Outlets, effectively facilitating traffic flow between the expo and commercial districts. For car buyers, a merchant coupon package valued at 220 RMB is also available on-site. In addition, the event offers TELD charging vouchers and has attracted 35 cross-industry exhibitors to set up shop simultaneously, linking up with the UnionPay QuickPass Home Appliance Festival. According to the organizers, promotional benefits will remain available throughout the expo, with a series of interactive activities to follow, striving to create an immersive new consumption experience through the integration of multiple business formats.

To enhance the visitor experience, the expo has concurrently hosted the "Egg-cellent" Benefits Season, featuring engaging activities such as arrival gifts, ticket purchase rewards, back-to-school gifts, and the "Smash the Golden Egg" game for car buyers, creating a vibrant on-site atmosphere. The grand opening of the 15th China Western (Lanzhou) International Auto Expo 2026 has not only brought a highly rewarding car-buying feast to auto consumers in Lanzhou and the broader Northwest region, but also injected strong momentum into local economic recovery and the upgrading and expansion of consumption through a combined strategy of policy subsidies, new car debuts, and cross-industry collaboration.
