Namibia's annual flagship biomass industry platform — the Biomass Industry Expo — will be held from August 6 to 8 in Otjiwarongo. As the country's premier annual biomass event, the expo will showcase Namibia's abundant biomass resource development opportunities, covering the Bush Control to Biomass value chain, sustainable rangeland management, bioenergy, charcoal production and export sectors.
Namibia has large areas of rangeland covered by encroacher bush. Clearing these bushes restores rangeland productivity while producing biomass fuel, charcoal and bio-based materials, creating a unique "waste to wealth" industry model. The expo will feature concurrent industry forums and technical workshops, providing a business matchmaking platform for investors and practitioners.
