The 2026 Tanzania National and International Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition opened on August 1 in Dodoma. Agriculture Minister Daniel Chongolo announced that all preparations have been completed after inspecting the venue, with Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba expected to officially preside over the opening ceremony on August 2.
This year's exhibition attracts exhibitors from 24 countries, continuing its international scale. The government is building the venue into a year-round agricultural service center. August 3 marks Cooperative Day and the 10th anniversary of the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI), with Vice President Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi presiding over the celebration. President Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to preside over the closing ceremony and National Farmers' Day celebration on August 8.
Nane Nane (Swahili for 'eight eight') is Tanzania's national farmers' day, with August 8 as a statutory public holiday each year. The exhibition is Tanzania's largest agricultural technology showcase and business matchmaking platform, providing exhibitors and public institutions with opportunities to interact directly with farmers.
