On August 1, the 2026 World Dairy Conference opened in Hohhot, themed 'Technology Leadership, Win-win Cooperation, Building a Global Sustainable Dairy Ecosystem'. The conference was co-hosted by Yili Group and Mengniu Group, attended by Lawrence Reken, Director General of the International Dairy Federation (IDF), Thatava Thasin, Assistant Director-General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, and nearly 1,000 representatives from global dairy industry leading enterprises.
At the opening ceremony, the International Food Technology Alliance officially awarded Hohhot the title of 'World Dairy Capital', marking a historic advancement from 'China Dairy Capital' to 'World Dairy Capital'. The conference launched the construction of the China (Global) Dairy Data Hub (Yili in partnership with NVIDIA and Tencent), released the 'Green Navigator Plan' and the 'Breast Milk Science Research White Paper' (co-compiled by Springer Nature and Yili), and announced the top 10 scientific and technological innovation achievements of the National Technology Innovation Center for Dairy Industry in 2026.
The conference features three parallel forums (Innovation Forum, Global Green Navigator Forum, Sustainable Development Forum) with supporting industrial project visits, achieving a full industry chain closed-loop display from pasture to table and from research to market.
